Relocating to the Charlotte Area for Work

Last week I found out that the company I work for is shutting down the office in Roanoke, VA. Everybody was given the choice of relocating to Charlotte, NC or Detroit, MI or taking an early retirement. Since I am nowhere close to retirement age I had to choose between the two cities. I’m not very fond of cold weather and snow so I chose to relocate to Charlotte. Since this move is going to take place very quickly I need to search for apartments in South Charlotte, NC. I only have two weeks to find and secure an apartment for me to live in.

Although this was a very stressful time, I tried to look at the positive side of it. The winter weather will be milder than it is in Roanoke. This is a big plus in my book. There will also be more room for professional advancement with my company at the Charlotte location. Sometimes you just have to roll with the punches and I started searching the internet for an apartment close to the new office I’ll be working at. There were too many to choose from so I started looking at apartments within five miles of the office.

I did find one only two and a half miles away and decided to focus my attention on it. Heck, I could walk to work if I had to or wanted to. I was very pleased to find out the apartments had all of the modern amenities that one could want. They were all modern and had gourmet kitchens, in my opinion. They had a pool, a fitness center, complimentary bike rentals and a doggie bark park that I know my precious Snoopy would enjoy. This seemed like a perfect place for me and I’m going to call and talk to the leasing agent to schedule a tour.
